Ada

One of the traditional breakfast number back home is a portion of soft, steaming, sweet Ada on any morning. This can also be served as a snack for tea time. Whatever be the time of day, this sure makes the rest of the day happy :)

Ada {with sweet coconut filling}

Ingredients:
1 cup Rice Flour
Salt, to taste
Hot Water, as required
1 cup Grated Coconut
1/4 cup Sugar

Method:

  • In a pan, saute grated coconut and sugar until the whole mixture is well combined. Remove from fire and keep aside.
  • Now make a dough by adding hot water little by little to the rice flour & salt.
  • Take a small ball of dough and flatten it out on a piece of baking paper using your fingers (originally we use banana leaf but it is hard for me to source any).
  • Spread the sweet coconut mixture and fold the baking paper in half, sealing the edges.
  • Transfer the Ada into a steamer and let it cook for around 12 mins or until cooked.
  • Slice them before serving and enjoy!

Notes: You can use jaggery instead of sugar for preparing the sweet filling. Also mix in raisins or nuts or cardamom powder as per your taste.

                                                                 ♥ Thank you ♥
